Tim Cable

Tim is the IT Services Coordinator at Winyama whose role is to develop IT services capabilities and has played a vital role in developing Indigenous Mapping Workshop Australia - Digital. Tim is from the Noongar traditional owner group and was born and raised in Perth. Tim is an avid Australian Rules Football supporter, player and coach. He loves his life here in Perth and has only ever left the city for holidays. 

Tim has a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University majoring in Information Systems and Information Technology. He is also a Google Cloud Certified Professional Collaboration Engineer. After graduating from University, Tim worked in a leveraged Service Desk role for a Managed Services Provider. The role provided him with many valuable skills and experiences, but also awakened him to the world of IT and the opportunities that exist in this space. Tim has since become a Volunteer System Administrator for a not for profit organisation, pursued professional certifications and joined the team at Winyama and Indigenous Mapping Workshop Australia.

Tim is driven by his curiosity and burning desire for knowledge. He enjoys a challenge and is a dogged problem solver. Tim’s mission is to create opportunities for Indigenous people who have an interest in IT and to help close the digital literacy divide.
